In a forest about ten kilometres north of Lodz, the Nazis murdered about 30,000 people between 1940 and 1944. The Majority of the victims were Poles from Radegast prison in Lodz, but also Jews from the ghetto in Lodz were murdered in the forest.

Current status: Monument (2012).

Location: 51°54'10.56" N 19°22'13.81" E

Get there: Car.

My comment:

A monument that probably no one reflects over when passing by.

Follow up in books: Lukas, Richard C: Forgotten Holocaust: The Poles Under German Occupation 1939-1944 (2008).
